  • Orthognathic surgery is indicated in major jaw discrepancies or in case of facial skeletal discrepancies.  The procedure is performed by an orthodontist along with an oral and maxillofacial surgeon. You can browse on net to know about the institutes offering free or cheap orthognathic surgery in India. Often braces are given before and after the surgery and retainers after the removal of braces. So if you want to opt for orthognathic surgery only because you don’t want braces, then you can reconsider your decision. If your teeth are irregular and you don’t want to go for braces treatment, then you can even opt for invisaligns which are clear, cosmetic, removable, aligners which can be used to correct the teeth. Invisaligns are bit expensive and can be used to correct minor defects. Apart from that, you can also opt for cosmetic procedures like veneers, crowns etc which can be used to correct minor defects.  For free treatment, you can approach any of the dental schools around your place.
