Hi, I had my top molar removed a week ago, there is still some discomfort and some throbbing. Stings when I rinse with salty water. Also on top of gum there seems to be a boney part beneath the surface? The gum tissue is also still tender

  • What i feel is that the pain is all due to a bony spicule that is impinging on the gum tissue and the extraction socket. You should visit a dentist ASAP and get the spicule removed. The whole procedure will hardly take 20-25 minutes for its completion. Dentist will smoothen the surface and will advise you some gum paint to apply over that area.

Till that time, you continue with your medications, do warm saline rinses and make sure not to eat anything hard from the treated area as this will aggravate the condition. Chewing a gum will give you a temporary relief.
