HI,I just had a periodontal surgery on both upper and lower teeth.doctor gave me an option to either do bone grafting or do braces.since she said when one does braces the bones liquify and when they solidify it will fill in the gaps in my bones. My bones arent that bad it they just have hollow spots in between and im just afraid the hollow spots might get bigger and i will eventual loose my teeth. I just want to know if braces is really the way to fix my bones.Im just afrait the force might even make my gums and teeth worse.thank you very much

  • It is difficult to comment on your situation with out the clinical examination and the detailed history. if you need braces only then go for that but if bone loss is there because of peridontal problem then you have to go for the bone grafting to fill the gaps not the braces. Still you can take a second opinion before deciding the treatment.
