Hello, I was wondering if it is normal to have white gums after an extraction. I got my #30 lower molar taken out two days ago. still painful which is to be expected but the gums around the extraction site are white. Is this ok?

  • If there is no swelling and pain is decreasing gradually then it is normal. Maintain good oral hygiene and donot eat from that side. If food lodgement is there then the extraction socket can get infected. Keep doing warm saline rinses 2-3 times a day. This whiteness of gums should go within a 7-10 days and if it increases then you have to schedule an appointment with dentist. for more info on tooth extraction you can check this link in our website.... http://www.identalhub.com/articlecategory-tooth-extraction-27.aspx
