I have one cracked wisdom tooth that needs to be removed. I was told that I may or may not need a sinus aug. but they won't know until my tooth is pulled. My insurance does not cover that & it's 700$ for it. My question is... Is it even mandatory that I get it if I say I don't want it

  • Sinus augmentation or sinus lift is done to increase the maxillary bone height but if you have to go  for extraction of wisdom tooth then in my opinion there is no need of sinus augmentation. However it is difficult to comment on this without clincal examination and history  taking and xrays. If you are not very sure or comfortable with diagnosis then you can take second opinion from a Oral Surgeon. for more info on wisdom teeth you can check this link in our website.. http://www.identalhub.com/articlecategory-wisdom-teeth-47.aspx
