the pain i was having in putting pressure on my tooth has finally left after a few days of taking antibiotics. i am scheduled for a root canal on wednesday. do i still need a root canal?

  • Yes even if the pain is gone after taking antibiotics, still you need the root canal treatment as infection is still there. The symptoms are gone because of antibiotics and when the affect of antibiotics wears off, may be after 15-30 days, again you will have pain. So it is better you get the root canal treatment done now under coverage of antibiotics which you have already taken otherwise afterwards also when you start with treatment you have to take antibiotics again.
