Can a sensitive Cracked tooth cause a sore throat and ear pain? I had a sore throat for about 4 weeks, and the doctor prescribed an antibiotic. The pain went away. I also went back to the dentist during the antibiotics because one of my tooth was hurting. Can these be linked? My sore throat has came back, and my tooth still throbs and is extremly sentive. He is going to be capping my tooth, but he didn't see any infection in the tooth. Again, do you think this is linked, or should I go to ent doctor. Thanks for your help.

  • If there is no infection in the cracked tooth as diagnosed by your dentist then the sore throat and ear pain cannot be due to cracked tooth. Sometimes if the tooth is infected then you may have ear pain but it is very unlikely that you  have sore throat. There may  be difficulty in swallowing because of infected tooth but that too if the tooth is last tooth. So it is advisable that you should go to ENT Specialist for this.
