I went to the dentist and he could not find anything wrong with the tooth with the pain he said I had a cavity and cracked next to the gum on the tooth beside the one that is hurting he put something on and said I would have to wait 5 days before he can fill it is this common procedure?

  • It is difficult to comment whether this is normal procedure or not as treatment depends on diagnosis and it is difficult to make diagnosis without clinical examination and xrays. But if your dentist says that there is cavity so he may have done temporary filling with medicament and must be waiting for pulp to heal before going for permanent restoration.
