if the needle used to inject novocaine hits a nerve, will the nerve regenerate on its own? if so, how long? if not, what can be done?

  • Yes normally the nerve regenerates and the numbness is temporary. It can take from 3 weeks to 3 months for the nerve to regenerate. Without clinical exam, it is difficult to comment upon. You can visit your dentist and discuss with him as it depends on extent of damage. for more info on complications after tooth extraction, you can check this link in our website.... http://www.identalhub.com/articlecategory-tooth-extraction-27.aspx
