Hello, I got a permanent porcelain crown on tuesday. I've been having on and off pain when I chew and today I noticed a fracture line near the gum line. My dentist isn't in until Tuesday, so the other dentist that was available saw me today. He said that I should just put in baking soda and de-sensitizing toothpaste. He said that I did not need a replacement. What can I do so that it doesn't hurt. Can it be filled with something?

  • Fracture line on the porcelain crown is not going to hurt you. It does not create any problem The only problem is the estheics and in your case a sit is near the gum line even that does not matter Your pain is not because of the fracture line. may be it is the adjusting period or the croown is high. You can go to your dentist and get the consultation. For more info on dental crowns you may read this article...http://www.identalhub.com/articlecategory-dental-crowns-72.aspx
