6 weeks ago I had a back molar extracted, but part of the gum is still sensitive when I eat there. Could there be a problem?

  • If the tooth is infected and extraction is surgical and bone cutting has to be done then it take around 6 weeks to 3 months for complete healing. So  if the pain is not increasing and there is no swelling then you can wait for some more time and till then follow all instructions given by your dentist. Maintain good oral hygiene and do warm saline rinses 2-3 times a day. But if the pain continues even after 3 months then you can schedule an appointment with your dentist to get the proper diagnosis made. for more info on problems after tooth extraction, you can check this link in our website... http://www.identalhub.com/articlecategory-tooth-extraction-27.aspx
