  • Yes,swelling in the neck glands can be due be due to tooth abscess.A tooth abscess is a collection of infected material (pus) due to a bacterial infection in the center of a tooth. You should not ignore this.So schedule an appointment with your dentist and who after a clinical examination and taking x-rays will suggest a proper treatment lan.In the mean time,a hot water bottle can be held against the swollen gland to provide relief from the swelling.Gargle with warm salt water.Mix 1/2 cup warm water and 1 tsp. salt in a glass, and use it to rinse your throat and mouth. Repeat three to five times during the day, including just prior to going to bed each night and first thing in the morning.
