My husband took our 4 year old daughter to the dentist a few days ago (it was her first visit) My husband pointed out a that her front tooth has a little spot on it to the dentist. The dentist said it is a cavity and minor cavity and made an appointment to fill it. My husband said that this cavity did not show up in the xray. I am concerned that maybe our daughter doesnt need a filling done. Her tooth is not dark, the color is slightly different from the rest. I dont know what I should do.

  • If the color of the lesion is opaque like it is more white then it is reversible and no restoration is needed. Use fluoridated tooth paste and maintain good oral hygeine. The lesion can reminealize but if it is light brown in color then yiou have to get the filling done. at this stage it does not show on the X-ray.
