I have a moderate to severe open bite to the point where I can actually put my pinky and index finger in between i think this was due to excessive thumb-sucking up until I was 11 and 1/2 years old I am now 13 and 1/2 and I want to know if there is anyway to fix it I don't mind getting braces but I really don't want to pull any teeth out. Please tell me if there is a way to fix it.

  • Yes the open bite can be fixed though it is bit difficult. You have to go to the orthodontist who will find out how much open bite is there. If it is more then some times the orthognathic surgery is done along with the braces treatment but if it is possible then it can be treated with the braces treatment alone. So visit your orthodontist and get the treatment done. For more info on braces treatment you can visit the following link......http://www.identalhub.com/article_diagnosing-need-for-braces-161.aspx
