I have a post...at least that is what I think it is called. The tooth has a long post on it. I've had it for almost two years I think. It came out this week. I put it back in. It is loose, but will not come out unless I chew gum. I was going to wait until I could go to the dentist. I woke up this morning and my whole right side of my face and lip was swollen. My dentist is closed today. What should I do?

  • When the post becomes loose, it has to be fixed by dentist. You have put it like that only and due to leakage the tooth has become infected. So now you have to go to dentist asap and till then either remove post and do warm saline rinses. You can take some pain killer tab and maintain good oral hygiene and do warm saline rinses 2-3 times a day. for more info on post and core you can check this article.... http://www.identalhub.com/articlecategory-post-and-core-74.aspx
