I have a lower jaw socket where a tooth was at one time and lately it hurts as though it was a tooth ache. The only relief I can get is to use Anbesol on the area

  • The pain can be in the extraction socket only if some part of tooth is left while doing extraction or it can be some referred pain. Sometimes it is phantom pain, if the tooth is not replaced. Now get the xray done and that can only make the diagnosis. If part of tooth is left then that has to be pulled out and if it is referred pain then cause of pain has be identified and treated. In the meanwhile do warm saline rinses and schedule an appointment with your dentist, who will do clinical exam and xrays and do the need treatment. for more info on pain after tooth extraction, you can check this link in our website.... http://www.identalhub.com/dental-pain-after-tooth-extraction-890.aspx
