Please help, I have had a serious excruciating toothache for the past 2 weeks now, it usually hurts the worse in the mornings, but I have gone to the dentist and have gotten antibiotics and pain killers. They said it could either be an infection or a wisdom tooth that's coming in. Have been taking antibiotics for over a week now and pain gets worse. Anyone know what the pain can be?

  • You have to get the diagnosis made and without clinical exam and xrays it is difficult to give you right diagnosis and the treatment plan depends on right diagnosis. As you saying that the pain is worse in the morning so it can be due to bruxism or TMJ problem. The pain due to tooth decay is normally worst at night time and if it is due to wisdom tooth then the pain is at angle of mouth and there is difficulty in swallowing and opening mouth along with acute pain and swelling. Taking the right xrays and proper history will help your dentist to reach the diagnosis. So schedule an appointment with your dentist and discuss the problem with him. for more info on dental pain you can read this article...
