  • First you have to find out the cause of swelling. It can be due to some gum problem or due to decayed teeth. If it is due to decayed teeth then you have to get the treatment done which may be root canal treatment and if it is due to gum problem then gum treatment has to be done. Taking and antibiotics and painkiller on your own is not going to help you. You have to take proper dosage of antibiotics for infection to subside and for this you have to visit your dentist to find out the cause and get the treatment done.
