My wisdom teeth are almost completely grown in on the bottom. On the left side wisdom tooth I have a piece of gum that overlaps the top of the tooth I can lift the gum up with my finger I noticed discoloration right under the gum on the gum blackish color I swabbed it and what looks like blood or something came off I've been having pain in my left side jaw is this infection or just a cut from the gum rubbing on top of the tooth

  • The flap of the gum which you have on the wisdom tooth is called operculum and you have to get it cut from dentist. This procedure is called upper operculactomy. The upper teeth keep on hitting the gum and that is why pain and bleeding was there.
