My gums were swollen on only one particular area of my mouth. When i pressed against it, they started to bleed. After a while i noticed that there is a flap of skin as if my gum is peeling off. Now it is throbbing after about 5 minutes of me pressing against it to see if that would stop the swelling. I don't know what this is or what I should do

  • The gum swelling in one particular localized area can be due to trauma or food impaction. Trauma can be there if like that particular area is hit by something or some hard thing is eaten from that side which causes the localized trauma and hence the swelling. Sometimes it can be due to food impaction as there may be some decay where the food got impacted and this food impaction causes the swelling. So you have to schedule an appointment with dentist and get it examined and get xray done. Till then you can do warm saline rinses and maintain good oral hygiene.
