I have an 11 year old child who has an "infected tooth." She feels pain. We were told that her nerves were dead. How can the nerves be dead if she feels pain?

  • Pain is due to infection which causes swelling and pain. The tooth is dead and that is why she is not feeling hot n cold sensation. When the tooth gets infected, the infection or the puss collects at the end of root and causes pressure on the tooth and as the tooth is inside a bony socket, so the pus cannot expand and causes pressure which the cause of pain. For this to ease the puss and pressure, root canal treatment is needed. So go ahead with treatment plan. for more info you can check this link in our website.... http://www.identalhub.com/articlecategory-root-canal-therapy-17.aspx
