I am 45 years old and have had no problems with my wisdom teeth, which are in straight. My 19 year old daughter's teeth are coming in straight and she is having no problems. Our dentist has repeatedly told me that she needs to have hers removed. He tells me this, too. But, I am NOT having mine taken out for no reason. Do people get 2nd opinions for dentists? What should we do?

  •  If the wisdom teeth are coming straight and are not causing problem then there is no need to get it pulled out. Mostly wisdom teeth are extracted if they are impacted or they are carious. Some times before starting the ortho treatment the wisdom teeth are advised to be extracted.  In your case whether the wisdom teeth should be extracted or not depends upon the clinical examination so it is difficult to comment. You can take second opinion. For more info on wisdom teeth you can visit the following link...  http://www.identalhub.com/dental-knowing-all-about-wisdom-teeth-719.aspx
