I have a molar on the lower right side that has a cap installed on it for the past 3 years. Pain has started when I drink cold or hot liquids or eat warm food. Can you tell me if the cap is ready to come off? Do I need to visit the dentist?

  • If the pain is there after taking hot n cold then that means the tooth  is infected and it is capped without doing root canal treatment. You have to visit your dentist who will take xray and find out whether the problem is in capped tooth or some adjacent tooth and do the treatment accordingly. If it is capped tooth then cap has to be removed and RCT has to be done and then tooth will be recapped. So schedule an appointment asap. for more info  on crowns you can check this link...  http://www.identalhub.com/articlecategory-dental-crowns-72.aspx
