my daughter is 8Y old with protruded tooth. on consultation with 6 dentists, 3 doc told that now gum to be attended with mould with head gear(this will adjust alignment of gum) and at 13Y furthur treatment to tooth to be done with clamps. if not at 13Y ooth can be brought down, but gum misalignment will continue. another 3 doc told this method is not required and tooth correction can be done by clamps after 13Y, which will give desired result. now totally confused. kindly advise whether former method with headgear is required now.

  • Without looking at the case the treatment modality can't be prescribed. Headgear is useful in patients whose jaw is still growing. The child might feel a little bit of discomfort initially when they wear the headgear. But, most children can cope really well with the headgear within a few hours of having it on...For more info on headgear visit the link...http://www.identalhub.com/dental-using-headgear-to-treat-overbite-750.aspx
