My son was diagnosied to have high labial frenum attachment (upper) And also tongue tie He is 3 months old and they what to remove it next week I spoke to a pedodontitis he said we should wait till he is 2 yrs old and see if it affect speech What is the best time to do it ?

  • For tongue tie and the labial frenum so early interventon is not needed. The tongue tie receeds with the development of the ridges and the eruption of the teeth. If it is causing speech problem then it is removed at the age of 2 to 5 years. In case of labial frenum the intrvention is done with the eruption of the permanent teeth that is after the age of 7 years. As we have not seen the case clinically so it is difficult to comment whether your child needs such early intervention or not.
