My son is 18 months old and knocked his front right tooth loose I took him to the dentist within the hour, and she still insisted that it could not be repaired, and removed it. I am very upset because I do not want him to have a huge gap in his mouth for the next 5 years. Is there any sort of implant, or partial I can get for him withing the next couple of days, weeks, or months? Or do I just have to wait till his permant teeth come in? I am desperate to have this fixed as soon as possible! I really need some information. The dentist we went to did not really give me and my husband any info and seemed in a hurry, and irritated by how upset I was. I don't want him to be missing his front tooth for the next 5 years!

  • This is very sad that tooth has to  be pulled out. You should have taken her to a pedodontist. Still take him to child dental specialist i.e pedodontist. There are many alternatives available but depends on the space present, type of occlusion and cooperation of child as your child is very young. Options are like banding of back teeth and putting wire on which artificial tooth can be put or by ribbond the tooth can be given. But without clinical exam it is difficult to decided what can be done. So take him to a pedodontist and discuss the options. for more info on children dentistry you can check this link..... http://www.identalhub.com/articlecategory-children-dentistry-33.aspx
