I had crowns 4 and 5 removed under the advice of the dentist. I wanted to take the crowns home but dentist insisted they remain in office to be disposed of as haz materials since they had been in my mouth. Is this hokus pokus and is dentist concerned I would take to another office for appraisal.

  • your dentist is right as that material that is crown should be disposed of as bio waste but if you really want it then it has to be properly disinfected before giving to you. Every dental office have their own procedure. Those crowns are of no use to the dentist. He can't reuse it. So if you really want those crowns you can talk to him and if after disinfection he can give it to u then it is o.k. For more info on dental crowns you can visit the following link on oir website...
