i had a root canal for first upper premolar and my doc suggested to get crown for both upper first and second premolars. is this process correct? do healthy second premolar need to be crowned to add strength to the first premolar?

  • if the support for the crown is less then some times the support is taken from the adjacent teeth but we have the option of post and core in which the extra support is taken from inside the root by putting the post. In this way we do not have to cut a healthy tooth for the support. You can discuss this option with your dentist.
