I have a sore rear tooth (very last upper tooth, not a wisdom tooth). I get pain when I chew on things like bread or nuts. A dentist has removed and replaced one filling but did not find any decay. He has said there is nothing showing up on the xray and the next step is a root canal. Are there any other options available?

  • From your symptoms it looks like that there is infection in the tooth. sometimes when it is borderline case and infection is less, initially it is not visible in the xrays but you have the symptoms which points out towards pulp inflammation and for this you have to go for root canal treatment. After root canal treatment you have to go for dental crown.
