have crowns on teeth 24 thru 20 and 25 thru 29. They are bridged together with a cantilever crown for 19 and 30. Teeth 20 and 29 need to come out due to abcess. If the roots to 20 and 29 are removed, will the bridge support 2 cantilever crowns on the ends. I also have a upper plate. Thanks

  • For such a long span, cantilever bridges are not very successful. For the cantilever bridges to be a success the supporting teeth  has to have very good bone support. You can opt for implants or the plates if the abutment teeth are not strong enough which can be judged by clinical exam and xrays. So discuss this with your dentist. for more info on dental crowns and bridges you can check this link..... http://www.identalhub.com/article_how-do-bridges-work-225.aspx
