I wanted my bottom teeth cleaned and was told I needed them scaled. I told her I just wanted them cleaned and she refused saying it was against the law as I had deep gum pockets. Is there such a law and can't I make my own decision as to health care for myself?

  • Whether it is law or not, if you have deep pockets with scales then  it becomes mandatory to do the deep scaling as simple prophy will not serve the purpose. In my opinion, your dentist is best judge and you follow her. for more info on SCRP you can check this link in our website.... http://www.identalhub.com/articlecategory-dental-scaling-24.aspx
