My 3yr old has some tooth discoloration and i am concerned. i took her to the dentist and they told me the nerve in her tooth is dead and the tooth needs to be taken out. I dont want my baby to be toothless for the next 5 to 6 years. is it really necessary to have her tooth extracted at such a young age.

  • If the tooth is just discolored and it is restorable, for this these days after getting the pulpectomy done, the tooth can be restored by giving crown if needed. So take your child to children dentist specialist ie. Pedodontist and get the needful done. Normally there is no need for the tooth to be taken out untill unless crown part of tooth is badly mutilated. for more info on crowns in children you can check this link in our website.... http://www.identalhub.com/article_crowns-in-children-236.aspx
