I just recently went in for an exam. I was set up with a cleaning split into to different visits. I was told that they wanted to do one side at a time so my whole face wasn't numb. It has been a while since I've had a cleaning but never did I have to get shots to numb my mouth just for a cleaning. Is this unusual? Necessary? I don't know what to think of this, should I seek a new dentist?

  • Your dentist must be doing SCRP which is normally done in 2 visits with half mouth in one go. This is done by giving numbing shot. So there is nothing unsual and just go ahead this this. If you are apprehensive then you can talk to your dentist. For more  info on SCRP, you can check this link in our website.... http://www.identalhub.com/articlecategory-dental-scaling-24.aspx
