Two weeks ago I had a root canal on my back molar because a deep filling was causing pain. Today, I bit down on a chewy cookie and the temporary filling fell out, along with some cotton. It instantly became very painful. I can't get to the dentist till tomorrow. I thought that the tooth couldn't cause pain anymore because there are no nerves in it? What's going on?

  • It looks like that root canal is not completely done otherwise the cotton is not there. The pain can be because of some crack in the tooth. After root canal treatment the nerves are dead but if tooth becomes infected again then pain can be there or if the tooth fractures even then the tooth can pain. For more info on pain after root canal treatment you can visit the following link.....http://www.identalhub.com/dental-pain-after-root-canal--914.aspx
