I had a root canal on the very back tooth on the top left side. My tooth then cracked. I went to the dentist and made an appointed to have a core build up done to repair my cracked tooth. A day after my core build up my tooth cracked again. Is this common? Should this have even happened? I am very upset I went to the dentist to fix my tooth and it seems she just made it worse.

  • Sometimes after the core buildup, the core cracks. It can be due to poor isolation during making the core or sometimes if the core is high or big in size then it breaks. You can reschedule the appointment and discuss with your dentist the cause of crack of core and go ahead. The dentist will assess the cause of crack of core and built it accordingly and go for the crown on top of that.
