My teeth are in very bad shape. I went to the dentist to get dentures. He has to pull 13 teeth. The problem is he said I will have to wait about 4 months to get dentures. He won't give me temporary dentures. I want to know if that is normal practice. Everyone I have talked to about this said their dentist gave them temporary dentures the day they pulled their teeth.

  • Normally after getting the teeth pulled out, immediate dentures are given which are temporary and later on when healing is complete, they are replaced with permanent dentures. I donot know why your dentist has not given. Sometimes the patient has systomic condition then the dentist avoids giving temporary dentures. You can discuss this with your dentist. for more info on dentures you can read this article.... http://www.identalhub.com/article_options-available-for-dentures--265.aspx
