Hi, I had four teeth missing due to some birth defect. The dentist I visit did an orthodontic treatment first for 2 years to get the teeth array aligned. Then suddenly without properly informing me, he cut the healthy teeth he arranged, using a his tools and installed a fixed bridge on the upper jaw and the lower jaw. The upper incisor and the canines were cut, they were healthy, and in the lower jaw the incisors were cut to put the fixed bridges respectively. Now they are not very strong, as I have to take precautions always when eating or smoking ... as they get hurt very quickly and the normal bite force is also not there, 50%. The original teeth is cut, I presume its gone, though I would want it back. What is the best treatment now to fix the current issue?

  • If the teeth are cut which is called reduction and fixed bridge is given then you do not have any other option as the teeth which are already reduced can not be rebuilt only crowns can be given. Otherwise also for the missing teeth the treatment option is either to go for the fxed bridge or to go for the implants. Now you can take good care of the bridges so that they last long and do not pose much problem. Initialy you have adjustment problems with the fixed bridges but once it settles down then they last long.
