Hi, I am 27 and want to get braces applied. My orthodontist has ruled out lingual braces in my case due to low clearance due to position of lower teeth. But for cosmetic and personal reason i want to go for lingual ones since the treatment duration is around 2yrs. Dr. says I should go for tooth colored braces instead. Are lingual braces not possible in all cases. Any other way I can minimize braces getting noticed. Thanks in Advance.

  • If you have deep bite that is the upper teeth are covering the lower teeth then it is not possible to go for lingual braces as the brackets will not stay and keep coming out . So in every case it is not possible to go for lingual braces. You can opt for ceramic braces or you can discuss with your dentist about the invisalign which is also very esthetic. They do not show and there is liberty of removing them also. But you have to discuss with your dentist whether you are a candidate for that .
