I am wondering if I have vertical food impaction. I have had extreme pain under my tooth implant for 12 days, it felt numb with pain. I saw 2 different dentist and they took x-rays and said everything looked fine. One told me that they are sorry I am in pain but don't know what is wrong. Now, the pain has subsided with only little pain above the tooth implant and I have what appears to be a sore on gum above adjacent teeth. The dentist said it looks irritated, but it is not an abcess. I thought it was infected, because it hurt so bad. I have had the implant for about 4yrs now. The only other time it hurt me was when I was pregnant and I believe I had a sinus infection for the 1st time--half my face hurt, the bones. Could this pain be from another sinus infection? I did lose my voice the day before I noticed the pain, but I also ate popcorn the day of the pain. What should I do? Should I see a specialist? I don't have insurance and can't afford to keep seeing different dentist only to tell me everything is fine. Something is wrong and I don't want to ignore it and have it get worse.

  • Most probably ther is recurrence of sinus infection in ur case .Firstly go to ur dentist and get a thorough clinical examination done for correct diagnosis and appropriate treatment of the condition .Also get Xray done.Remember to avoid sneezing and doing any activity that aggravate the condition and puts pressure on the sinus and start doing warm saline rinses as it relieves pain and swelling and promotes healing........for more info refer the link........................http://www.identalhub.com/dental-relationship-of-sinus-problems-and-bad-breath-635.aspx
