I have two questions: My jaw cracks on the right side, whenever I open my mouth really big. What is doing this? Secondly, my dentist said I should get my wisdom teeth out, but they are not hurting at all, but they say they will in the future (I kept asking them how, because on the x-rays i saw they were coming in straight, but they just kept saying I needed to get them taken out)...Is my dentist lying?

  • The jaw cracking is because of TMJ problem. As such there is no treatment for this but you should be careful and should not open your mouth really big. Normally it does not give any problem if you take precautions. Regarding your wisdom teeth, may be the space is not enough for their eruption and due to this the dentist may be asking you to get them pulled out even though they are coming straight. Nothing can said without seeing xray and doing clinical examination. If you are not satisfied with your dentist then you can show to other dentist for second opinion.
