My son is about to turn eight, he just had a adult tooth surface. We noticed that when the tooth first puctured through that it had a yellow spot on it. As the tooth continued to surface the spot grew in size. It is very yellow, and there is an noticeable erosion in the yellow area. My wife seems to think that it is a flouride or medicine allergy. We practice good dental hygene as a family.

  • Sometimes when the tooth is forming inside the gums the child fells sick or he has to take some medicine which causes the disturbance in calcification and maturation of the tooth and causes hypoplasia of the enamel and when the tooth erupts then there are yellow or white spots on the tooth. You cannot make is go but you can get it treated by getting tooth colored (Composite) filling on the tooth after the toot fully grows. This is a common problem and it can also happen if excess fluoride is consumed but in that case it is not on the single tooth but it involves multiple teeth and is called Flurosis of Enamel.
