a week ago i was in really bad pain.i had a locked jaw and couldn't eat anything that wasn't soup.so i went to the dentist, where i found out i have 6 wisdom teeth not 4. the one on the top #16 i believe is completely in my sinus (not just the root)all other teeth are coming in. they sent me to an oral surgeon. when i went in to get them taken out before he started he said that a tooth completely in my sinus is not normal.he said that there might be something pushing it and recommended me to a hospital in Washington dc.he said i had a very unique case.i just want a second opinion and want to know how dangerous this may be.

  • Yes if u have a tooth in the sinus then the no. of complications that might occur during its extraction are more.Usually it may lead to sinus infection known as sinusitis that causes the pus to accumulate ,also causing the swelling of the lining of the sinus mucosa which leads to blockage of nasal tracts. Thus it even puts pressure on other teeth and can cause their displacements.,The most important thing u can do is go to an experienced dentist (oral surgeon ) who has experience of dealing with such cases as there will be less complications post operatively if u get operated by experienced hand ...........for more info refer the link..........http://www.identalhub.co/articlecategory-wisdom-teeth-47.aspx
