I have been wearing my dentures for over six months. Lately i have noticed what i can only describe as a 'Phantom Tooth Ache' like pain on the back, right side of my lower gum. This discomfort only occurs when i eat with my dentures in place. There are no abrasion that can been seen, not to mention it feels as if the pain is under the gum (more like bone pain). Can you give me any ideas of what this may be? Thanks for your time!

  • The pain while eating with dentures can be either the dentures is impinging somewhere or sometimes some tooth which is impacted and is not diagnosed before, is trying to come out. Most likely in your case, the impacted tooth can be the cause and for this you have to go to dentist and get pano done. If there is some impacted tooth or some part of the tooth left while pulling out of teeth is left will be visible and you have to get it extracted. If it is because of impinging of denture then denture has to be adjusted.
