I woke up three days straight with my jaw stuck on the left side of my face. I would mess with it manually for a couple seconds and i would hear it pop back into place. On the fourth day it did this, it did not pop back into place. Its now been four days since i was able to fully open my mouth wider then an inch. I can barely eat, brush my teeth etc. It clicked alot in the beginning, but that has subsided, the pain is not unbearable. But like i said, i cant open my mouth, nor can i chew for to long without it hurting. I went to doc and he diagnosed it as TMJD but it seems no one knows how to fix it. I don't grind my teeth and i'm not stressed, i'm only 18. Does this mean i will never be able to fully open my mouth? Please, please help.

  • Your problem is of lock jaw in which the jaw gets locked. it can be because of many reasons. Yours can be because of faulty sleeping posture. there is no treatment for this. You have to be cosious not to open your mouth very wide while laughing or yawning. For now as you are not able to open your mouth fully ,it can be because of the muscle soreness. You can visit a oral surgeon who after examining you can advise some exercises which will help you in opening the mouth.
