My gums hurt very badly and it feels like something is in them. This happened three times already and the pain went away and so it couldn't have been gingivitis or something like that. I brush me teeth on a regular basis also so what is wrong with them?

  • It may be because of the food impaction in the area which can be there either because of decay in the tooth or due to some pocket formation. When the decay or pocket formation is there, the food gets impacted and irritates the gum and hence the pain. When the food gets cleaned out, the gum heals and pain disappears. For this you have to go to the dentist to find out. He will take the xray and do the treatment accordingly. If it is decay then filling will be done and if otherwise then he will clean the area and give dressing. Regular brushing with flossing will help you.
