I went to the dentist about two days ago for extreme tooth pain that comes in waves. He did an x-ray and couldn't see a crack in the tooth, and he filed down one of my teeth because he thought I might have been clenching at night. It still feels the same, painkillers don't work. Is there anything that can help the severe pain?

  • Sometimes it is difficult to diagnose the crack as it can be very minute and the pain can be because of some trauma also and if your dentist has ground the tooth so that un-necessary pressure is not there. It will take another 3-4 days for the tooth to heal and the pain to go. Till then avoid eating from that side and maintain good oral hyg.
