My Upper back molar needs a root tip extraction. My dentist said, looking at the x-ray, that it would be extremely easy to remove. I'm very nervous about this. Would stiches be necessary? And how long does this procedure usually take?

  • If the root tip is there in the oral cavity for a long then it becomes loose and comes up and it is very easy to extract. In some cases it is easier than pulling a normal tooth and you donot need any stitches and hardly takes 10-15 minutes for the whole procedure. If the root tip is lying quite deep then incision has to be given and flap has to be raised to reach upto the root tip and in that case stitches are given. But if your dentist says it is extremely easy then there is nothing to be nervous about. But you should follow all the instructions of the dentist to avoid post pull out complications.
