I have 2 teeth in the front of my mouth that are missing. I was considering doing a bridge on the front teeth because I do not want to wear a retainer anymore. I would need my front 2 and the 2 on either side of the fakes to be grinded down and get a bridge for all front six. The dentist I went to quoted me $5000. Is this standard?

  • If you go for bridge, the dentist has to take the support from the adjacent teeth. In case of front two teeth, as they are quite big in comparison to the laterals which are the adacent teeth&nbsp, two teeth on either side are required to take the support. The supporting teeth are called abutment teeth. It is the standard procedure. The cost is normally per unit which is from $750 to $1000. As you are going to have 6 unit bridge the price is also reasonable. The other option is that you can think of getting implants. In that the support from the adjacent teeth is not required and you will be needing two implants. The cost of the implant is approx. $3000 to $5000 depending upon the case and the type of implant.
