I had a tooth in upper front pulled because it cracked all the way and dentist couldn't save it. He put in a flipper. It has been 6 days and I am having pain and a bad odor/taste in that area. I think the front tooth next to the extraction is hurting quite a bit. It hurts to bite down on it. It is Saturday and my dentist will not be in untill Tuesday or Wednesday. My teeth are very advanced and I am in need of partials soon. I need advice.

  • If you are in pain that means the extraction site is infected. You remove the flipper and do warm salne rinses and put the flipper when absolutelyessential till the healing is there. Keep the extraction wound  and the flipper clean as flipper, if not cleaned properly can cause the wound to get infected. Do warm saline rinses atleast 3 to 4 times a day. If you want to know more  about the flippers which in dentistry are know as RPD then you can visit the following link on our website.........http://www.identalhub.com/article_various-types-of-dentures-170.aspx
