I'm 17 now and there is one upper tooth which won't fall out. Yesterday I got it x-rayed and the dentist told me that I have no permanent teeth on that location (it should be canine tooth if it could fall out). She suggested that I have it extracted and I should get braces put on. The problem is, I don't have a lot of teeth (only 28 teeth, 14 up 14 down). I'm afraid if she extracts it, my upper teeth will be spaced because the braces change my teeth position to cover my missing milk tooth. My questions are: Do you think I should have it extracted and wear braces? Can milk tooth like mine fall out someday? Because my dentist said that it can (but when?), whereas I don't have permanent teeth...I don't want to be seen toothless...But if it can't, I don't wanna get it pulled out....I'm gonna keep it. Actually my teeth are already tidy and I'm quite comfortable with my milk tooth...it doesn't bother me at all. Thank you *Sorry for my bad English*

  • you have milk tooth which is supposed to be there till the age of nine to ten years ,but as your adult tooth is missing it is still there but eventually it will fall as the baby teeth have small roots and they do not sustain in mouth for long. Now if you get it extracted you can get the braces treatment done but if you donot want to get it extracted now then after wards when you loose it you can go for either the bridge or get the implant done to fil lthe space.
